Just published: A history of Leeds, Alabama, as told through photographs

October 11, 2012

Pat Hall, a native of Leeds, Alabama, and I have co-written a book that tells the small city’s history through photographs. The book was released Oct. 1 by Arcadia Publishing.

The city of Leeds, which straddles Jefferson, St. Clair and Shelby counties, claims three Congressional Medal of Honor recipients and four descendants of signers of the Declaration of Independence.

I would like to invite my blogging friends who live nearby to a book signing for Leeds. Signing events that have been finalized for the month of October are as follows:

Saturday, October 13, 9 am – 3 pm

The John Looney House and Pioneer Museum

4187 Greensport Road

Ashville, Alabama

(During the St. Clair Historical Society’s Fall Festival)

Saturday, October 20, 11 am – 1:30 pm

The Monkey’s Uncle

8032 Parkway Drive

Leeds, Alabama

Sunday, October 28, 1:30 – 3:30 pm

The Leeds Arts Center

8140 Parkway Drive

Leeds, Alabama
